Impulse Dynamics has announced the first implantation of the Optimizer IVs device in the Czech Republic earlier this summer. The implantation took place at the Na Homolce Hospital in Prague (Czech Republic) by Petr Neuzil, head of Cardiology at the same institution.

The Optimizer IVs is a minimally invasive implantable device designed to treat chronic heart failure. The device is based on novel Cardiac Contractility Modulation technology, and delivers non-excitatory electric pulses.

“After implantations with the Optimizer III in the past, I am very pleased with the new Optimizer IVs system we implanted in connection with the upcoming FDA confirmatory study. We are looking forward to the potential benefits this technology will be able to offer our patients,” says Neuzil.

“We are very glad to be able to provide the CCM therapy also now to patients in the Czech Republic” said Eric Goarin, VP of Sales and Marketing for Impulse Dynamics. “We are committed to demonstrating the clinical value of the CCM therapy for patients, starting enrolment in two large additional randomised controlled trials, one of them being the FDA

The Optimizer system is available in Europe and limited to investigational use only in the United States.
